Concert III – French Mélodie: A Journey into French Vocal Music
This concert is part of a chamber music series artistically directed by Spanish pianist and musicologist, Irina Soriano Kuznetsova, and organised with the support of the Embassy of Spain in Belgium. Through three complementary programmes, the series offers a journey through the great traditions of European chamber music, from Viennese Classicism to the French mélodie.
The final concert of the series is devoted to the French mélodie, one of the most refined genres of the European musical heritage.
Through a selection of works by renowned French composers, the programme explores the subtle dialogue between poetry and music, in which voice and piano come together to create a musical universe of great sensitivity and nuance. Its harmonic richness, careful attention to text and musical elegance make the French mélodie one of the most emblematic expressions of French culture.
Soprano Lisa Willems and pianist Irina Soriano Kuznetsova present an intimate recital that brings the chamber music series to a fitting close, celebrating chamber music as a privileged space of encounter between artists and audiences.
