Duo Sorez

Concert II – Colours and Contrasts: Music for Piano Four Hands

This concert is part of a chamber music series artistically directed by Spanish pianist and musicologist, Irina Soriano Kuznetsova, and organised with the support of the Embassy of Spain in Belgium. Through three complementary programmes, the series offers a journey through the great traditions of European chamber music, from Viennese Classicism to the French mélodie.

The second concert in the series is dedicated to the piano four-hands repertoire, one of the most refined and intimate forms of chamber music.

The programme features works by Claude Debussy, Franz Schubert and Maurice Ravel, offering a musical journey through different European aesthetics, from Romanticism to French Impressionism. The elegance of Debussy's Petite Suite, the expressive depth of Schubert's Fantasia in F minor, and the colourful sound world of Ravel's Ma Mère l'Oye and Pavane pour une infante défunte showcase the richness and versatility of the piano four-hands repertoire.

Performed by Duo Sorez, this concert highlights the artistic rapport and musical understanding required by this distinctive duo format and offers audiences a musical experience marked by finesse, poetry and virtuosity.
