Instruments of the world

In addition to discovering unusual instruments and their sounds, this tour invites reflection on the role of music in human life and society. While our Western world has gradually lost the functional aspect of music, it remains very much alive elsewhere.

Under what circumstances is the gamelan played? How can a drum “speak”? What links the zampogna to spider bites? Let yourself be surprised by a musical universe full of intriguing functions, forms, and materials.
