Trio inspired by folk
Throughout this program, Trio Jenlis takes you on a musical journey from the sun-soaked landscapes of Spain to the majestic peaks of the Carpathians. For centuries, so-called “classical” composers have drawn inspiration from traditional music - sometimes to revive the musical heritage of their homelands, and other times out of fascination with the exotic sounds of other cultures.
Using the voices of violin, cello, and harp, this program explores how Spanish, Central European, Jewish, and Argentine traditions have influenced composers such as Corelli, Ravel, Bartók, Piazzolla, and many others. Their works create a vibrant dialogue between eras and cultures, revealing the universality of musical language.
Trio Jenlis, formed by three siblings, shares unique moments with the audience, strengthened by their family bond and the distinctive harmony of their instruments.
