Student Sound Series - Hungarian Edition

In this afternoon concert series, highly talented students of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel perform their finest work.

“It was the happiest time of my life, spent in the villages among the peasants.”
Experience the heartbeat of Hungary with Jenő Hubay, Franz von Vecsey, and above all Béla Bartók. In search of authentic folk music, Bartók ventured into the countryside, documenting rhythms, melodies, and traditions that he later brought to life in his compositions. Together with his contemporaries, he gave Hungarian music a fresh impulse, infused with energy, emotional power, and an unmistakable sense of place. Discover this rich tradition in this concert, where students perform both solo and in duo with their Hungarian teacher, Antal Zalai.

This concert is organised in collaboration with the Liszt Institute, Hungarian Cultural Center.
After the concert, the bar will be open. You are warmly invited to stay for a drink and a friendly chat.
