Bouzouki Eulogy

KÁLESMA + screening of the documentary « BOUZOUKI EULOGY »

As part of Klanken van de Steden, the MIM presents an evening celebrating the richness and evolution of Greek musical culture in Brussels and Antwerp.

The evening begins with a screening of the documentary BOUZOUKI EULOGY (in Dutch, with French and Dutch subtitles), which traces the symbolic journey of a bouzouki once played by Greek musician Giorgos Dalaras, traveling from Brussels to Antwerp - a story closely linked to musical circulation and migration.

The concert by KÁLESMA continues this exploration with a reinterpretation of rebetiko, bridging tradition and contemporary creation. Bringing together musicians from diverse backgrounds, the ensemble highlights how Greek musical heritage continues to evolve and resonate today.

This event is part of Klanken van de Steden. Muziek zonder grenzen, a project running from 2026 to 2028 that examines how migration shapes and transforms urban musical cultures through a series of concerts. It is a collaboration between MIM, Muziekpublique, Museum Vleeshuis, and Wesp / Merodefestival, with the support of the Flemish Government.
