Ettore Pagano & Naoko Sonoda

The MIM’s concert hall will host an exceptional recital featuring Italian cellist Ettore Pagano, winner of the 75th Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2026, and pianist Naoko Sonoda, an internationally acclaimed artist known for her work as both a soloist and chamber musician.

For this special concert, the two musicians will present a programme celebrating the richness and diversity of the cello and piano repertoire, from Beethoven to Poulenc, with Manuel de Falla in between.

The programme includes Beethoven’s 7 Variations on “Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen”, Poulenc’s Suite française, Manuel de Falla’s Siete canciones populares españolas, and Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 3, Op. 69.

The concert will be preceded by an Avant-scène – Young Talent performance featuring 12-year-old cellist Charlotte Melkonian, who will perform alongside Naoko Sonoda in works by Schumann and Cassadó.

This concert is presented by Finday Culture, in partnership with the museum.
