Élodie Vignon

Mister Debussy

On January 25th, Elodie Vignon released the first part of her complete works of Monsieur Debussy, titled Soirs d’or, under the Cypres label. The meeting with Italian musicologist Andrea Malvano - who published Debussy, un nouvel art de l’écoute in 2020 with Van Dieren éditions - was therefore inevitable.

From their shared passion for Debussy, a valuable and inspiring collaboration emerged around Elodie’s project, resulting in a foreword for the album written by Andrea Malvano. Together, they launched the complete collection during a very first event at the composer’s birthplace in Saint-Germain-en-Laye on February 9, 2025.

During his introduction, Andrea Malvano will demonstrate how Debussy transformed the listening experience of his audience and why he became one of the pioneers of modern art. Afterwards, pianist Élodie Vignon will guide us through the poetic world of Debussy, who was fascinated by the night. At the crossroads of post-Romanticism and modernity, she will perform some of Debussy’s major cycles, complemented by a few pieces that reveal the roots of this modernity.
