The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) seeks volunteer reception staff

 

We are currently looking for motivated volunteers  to join our reception team, both during the week and on weekends. Main task: to assist the public and distribute the multi media guides.

Job description / responsibilities

- welcoming visitors from behind the reception desk and helping them with their questions

- both giving out and taking back the multi media guides

- giving feedback about your experiences and any problems (with the hardware) there might have been to the coordinator

- volunteering at the MIM, alone or with a fellow volunteer

Profile / expectations

- you can regularly attend on weekends and / or during the week

- you enjoy interacting with an (international) audience

- you like to communicate clearly and in a friendly manner

- you are patient and efficient

- you handle the multi media guides and the accompanying material with care

- you care about customer service

- you keep a cool head at busy times

- you enjoy working with others

- you subscribe to the values and workings of the museum and give feedback to the coordinator

- you are fluent in Dutch, French and English to the extent that you can help the members of the public in an efficient and friendly manner. Other languages are always a plus.

- you are 55 years or younger (this under the covid19 measures currently applied in museums)

- you will be included in the team of RMAH volunteers for an indefinite period

- you will receive training and a demo

- you will receive a tour of the museum

- you will receive an expense allowance

- you will work in a fascinating environment in the heart of Brussels, a stone's throw from Brussels Central Station

At the end of January 2021 we will organise an online meet and greet with fellow volunteers and museum staff from the mediation department.
